DNB bank has already been providing services in the Euro – the new currency of Lithuania
2015-01-02
After one-year preparations DNB bank’s information systems from 31 December 2014 to 1 January 2015 were successfully adapted to the Euro – the new currency of the Republic of Lithuania. From 2 January the Internet banking and mobile banking has resumed operations. All the bank branches, ATMs and payment cards operate as usual.
“We are happy that the start of 2015 is marked by DNB bank’s successful transition to the euro and the main banking services are available to our customers as usual. Sincere thanks to all employees and partners who have contributed to the smooth implementation of this complex change,” – says Vaineta Barevičiūtė, DNB Executive Vice President and coordinator for the transition to the euro.
Funds in customer accounts have been converted into euros based on the official exchange rate of the litas to the euro, i.e. LTL 3.45280 for EUR 1. The fees and charges for banking services remained unchanged, except for international SEPA transfers and transfers in euros to DNB group’s banks and their administration. These fees have decreased since 1 January. From now on all local money transfers to other banks registered in Lithuania are made on an hourly basis.
Please note that information about credits will be available in the Internet banking from 5 January. Starting from this date you will be able to generate an account statement for any period chosen by you.
Please be reminded that the adoption of the euro has no effect on performance and validity of the agreements entered into between a customer and DNB bank. From 1 January 2015 any payments made in Litas under the agreements before this date are possible in euros only. Please note that from 1 January non-cash payments or accounts in the Litas currency are not possible at DNB bank.
Since 1 January 2015, for half a year cash exchange from the Litas to the Euro will be carried out free of charge at the official rate in all DNB branches. Depositing of exchanged euros into own or co-owner’s account will be free of charge within the period.
At weekend more than usual branches of DNB bank will be open for operations and their working schedule is available here. (link removed)
