DNB Bankas, part of Norway’s largest financial services group, will start issuing VISA payment cards to its customers with a blind cut to ease card usage when paying for goods or services or withdrawing cash from ATMs. These will be the first payments cards on the local market with this user-friendly feature.
The blind cut on DNB payment card is made on the opposite end to the chip. That helps intuitively insert the card into a payment terminal or an ATM right even in case the light is not enough. The functionality is particularly convenient to senior citizens or those who suffer from poor eyesight.
"This user-friendly feature has already won recognition by our customers in Norway proving once and again often simple solutions are the best ones." says Lijana Žmoginaitė, head of the Sales Management Department at DNB Bankas.
Since now on all DNB VISA Business credit cards with a blind cut will be available. Starting the fall all VISA payment cards issued by DNB Bankas will have the feature. The production costs of such cards are slightly higher compared to the regular ones, however DNB Bankas will not be charge its customers extra.
At the end of 2012, DNB Bankas had over 505 thousand payment cards outstanding.
