Starting September this year, renewed debit cards (Maestro and IKI PREMIJA Maestro) will be sent to the customers by post to their addresses stored in the Nordea Bank database. So far, renewed cards were mailed only in individual cases, and usually customers had to come to the Lithuanian Nordea Bank branch to pick up their cards. As of September, customers of the Bank will also be able to receive the newly ordered debit cards by post.
Renewed debit cards will be sent free of charge within the entire territory of Lithuania.
Is It Safe? Yes, It Is.
Sending a card is completely safe. Payment cards will be sent inactive and after receiving the card, the customer will have to activate it. This can be done in several ways: by completing operations at a Nordea Bank ATM (by checking the account balance or making a cash withdrawal); also, it is possible to activate the card via the internet banking – all you have to do is log in, select "Activate the Card" option in the card section, and approve the transaction using the internet banking login code or your mobile signature. The third option is available as well, i.e. the card can be activated by calling the Bank information centre during the opening hours at +370 5 239 3444.
Nordea Bank is asking its customers to check the submitted addresses via the internet banking and in the case of discrepancies update the information immediately, but not later than one month before the card expiration date. Before the expiry of the card, Nordea Bank will send reminders to its customers via the online banking to check their addresses stored in the Bank’s system.
