From November 1 2007 you, investing in for
example shares and funds, will benefit from:
Higher level of transparency in relation to
all investment services.
Increased quality of investment advising.
Improved investor protection by e.g. new best
execution rules.
These benefits will
come as a result of the new EU rules MiFID, Markets in Financial Instruments
Directive. The main objective is to harmonise investment services and increase
competition in the financial sector within EU.
Nordea has already a
high standard of investor protection and customer handling inherent in the
Nordic countries. However, we have also adjusted both procedures and practices
according to the new rules making it as easy as possible for our customers.
These rules apply for both personal and corporate customers.
You as a customer in focus
You don’t need to take any actions due to the new rules, if not
otherwise requested in writing by Nordea.
You might notice
that we will ask additional questions in relation to your investments. The
reason is that Nordea is obliged to make sure that our customers have
understood eg the risks of the investments.
You will be
categorised depending on if you are regarded as a professional investor or not.
The largest protection is for customers not dealing with investments
professionally.
You will get
additional information about how we execute your orders from our best execution
policy.
You will be
informed of our conflicts of interest policy
