Payments in litas will be available for a shorter period on the last day of the year

Please be informed that payments in litas will be available for a shorter period on the last day of the year due to the introduction of the euro in Lithuania. Domestic payments to other banks in Lithuania and inside Nordea Lithuania branch will be processed on the same day provided if submitted by 12:00 am on 31 December 2014.

 

Any domestic payments submitted after that date will be processed as follows: funds in litas will be credited from the customer's account on 31 December 2014 and sent to the recipient in another bank in euros on 2 January 2015 with the sum converted according to the official exchange rate.

 

International payments in foreign currencies will be sent on 31 December 2014 provided if submitted by 12:00 am. Any payments submitted beyond this date will be processed on 2 January 2015.

 

Any incoming transactions in litas from other banks in Lithuania will be accepted until 1:30 pm on 31 December 2014.
