Christian Clausen,
CEO at Nordea

Global Finance magazine has announced its annual awards for the World’s Best Banks in Developed Markets. Nordea has been chosen both regional winner in the Nordics and country winner in Sweden.

The winners of this year’s awards are those banks that attended carefully to their customers’ needs in difficult markets and accomplished better results while laying the foundations for future success, according to Global Finance.

“The banks that Global Finance is honouring may not be the largest or oldest, but they are the best at targeting their products and offerings to the specific markets they serve,” says Joseph D. Giarraputo, publisher and editorial director of Global Finance. “These banks have weathered the volatile conditions of the past few years and are primed to take advantage of global conditions – as they improve.”

"We are glad to receive this recognition as being a bank with a strong focus on our customers´ needs. This focus will continue to guide us in our work to develop the bank and meet our customers’ demands also in an even more digital world, says Christian Clausen, Group CEO, Nordea.

"I am very proud that Nordea has been awarded best bank in Sweden, as well as best regional bank in the Nordics. As part of our multichannel relationship strategy we continuously expand the opportunities for customers to interact with us as they prefer. In the coming years we will secure that we also in the long term will provide more personalised and convenient solutions for our customers”, says Lennart Jacobsen, Head of Retail Banking and Country Senior Executive in Sweden.
