Nordea bank implemented the move to euro in Lithuania fluently – euro conversion at the bank was fully completed on the early morning of January 2.

Cash operations at the Nordea network ATMs were available shortly after the midnight of the New Year's Eve – just 1 minute after the midnight.

The first customer on the New Year's Eve was Inga Skisaker, the Head of Banking Baltic countries. “Euro adoption is a historical moment for everyone – for residents, bank employees, and finally, for Lithuania as a full member of the European Union. We have been preparing for this moment for the whole year, therefore I am very happy that results exceeded the expectations and I wish everyone the whole 2015 to be just as successful as so far”, said I. Skisaker on the New Year's Eve.

Nordea debit and credit card operations due to euro conversion were carried out continuously and without any defaults. The customers could check their converted accounts on the Internet bank right on the morning of January 1.

Lithuania is the 19th member of the eurozone and the last of the three Baltic states to adopt the single currency. Introduction of the euro will positively affect the economy and will consolidate even more Lithuania’s place in Europe.
