Nordea and TV3 present: Honour of Lithuania 2011 (Lietuvos Garbė 2011)
2011-01-19
In 2011, the Honour of Lithuania, which awards and honours ordinary Lithuanians for gallant work and service as well as Lithuanians who live abroad and makes their native land famous, returns to TV3 on the initiative of Nordea.
"We decided to contribute to this noble initiative in order to demonstrate the importance of good work and positivity in the creation of Lithuania’s future and society. Good work must be rewarded and I believe that these awards will become a national tradition in the future", Inga Skisaker, General Manager of Nordea Bank Lietuva, said.
Over the 5 years of the Honour of Lithuania project, the special statue made from black marble, metal, gold and silver has been awarded to 53 people from all over Lithuania. This year, the destiny of the heroes of the project will also be decided by a competent team comprising people who are well-known in Lithuania for their work as well as by TV3 viewers. Every year, the award ceremony is attended by both well-known and highly respected people of the country as well as the most popular representatives of Lithuanian show business, sports, culture, and politics.
Starting on 13 January, TV3 will invite Lithuanians to nominate stories of ordinary people who are worthy of an Honour of Lithuania award and which will be presented in a special TV3 News section.
The Honour of Lithuania award ceremony will be held by Nordea and TV3 in March.
